Out of hours veterinary service

Part of providing our clients with professional and compassionate care is making sure we have you covered when the clinic is closed.  We are NOT an emergency centre however we have a vet on an on-call up until 12am. Between 12am and 8am, calls are diverted through to an emergency centre in Melbourne. To get in contact with our after hours vet, please contact the clinic on 5333 5959.

This service is provided to existing clients of Eureka and Ballarat Vet Practice.  This service is NOT for general enquires, for general enquires, please contact the clinic during normal business hours.

The after-hour service we offer to clients rotates is through the Eureka Veterinary Clinic, Ballarat Veterinary Clinic and Ballarat Pet and Farm Veterinary Clinic on weekdays.  On weekends, our afterhour services operate out of the Eureka Veterinary Clinic on Creswick Road.  Please make sure you ask which clinic is on call that night so there are no confusions on where to go.

Upon arrival, your pet will be assessed by a veterinarian and nurse.  Please be aware that patients are triaged on a priority basis and as such sometimes there may be a wait depending on how busy we are.  We ask that you respect the vet and the nurse during this process and recognise they are there to help and will not tolerate agressive or abusive behaviour.

We will aim to provide an estimate of the costs involved with your pet, however, please be aware that with emergency procedures costs can vary depending on what services and treatments are required.

Our veterinarians will keep you updated regularly during the course of your pet’s stay in hospital. In some cases, the problem is so serious, we may need to refer to a veterinary specialist centre or 24-hour emergency facility as we do not have staff in the clinic 24 hours.

Please contact us to discuss our after-hours arrangement, it’s always nice to know this information before you actually need it.
