Microchip Identification

A microchip is a simple and unique form of permanent identification for your pet.  About the size of a grain of rice, the microchip is linked to your contact details on a national register, greatly increasing the chances of bringing your pet safely home to you.

It takes only a few minutes for one of our veterinarians to inject the microchip under your pet’s skin - similar to a vaccination. Our nurses will then help you to complete the registration form with all your contact details; this will be lodged with the national registry.

Eureka Veterinary Hospital and the Mt Clear Vet Clinic use microchips which are ISO qualified to meet stringent Australian standards. It is now a requirement by most municipal councils that all pets are microchipped.  We recommend that every pet owner take this precaution to avoid the heartache and expense of trying to find a missing pet.
