Kate Sheludko B.V.Sc.(Hons.), M.A.C.V.Sc.

Dr Kate Sheludko grew up on property near Buninyong, before attending the University of Queensland in Brisbane where she graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with First Class Honours in 1997. For two years following graduation Kate worked with both large and small animals, including a high proportion of dairy cattle, for Korumburra-Kooweerup Veterinary Clinics in South Gippsland. Having decided that whilst she loved the cattle work, her ongoing interest lay in companion animal work, she then spent a number of months as a locum veterinarian in various small animal practices in England and also locumed at Wodonga Veterinary Hospital before joining Eureka Veterinary Group in January 2001.

Kate’s passion is providing excellent medical care to dogs and cats, and after completing a University of Sydney Postgraduate Distance Education Course in Small Animal Medicine in 2002, she went on to pass examinations admitting her as Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in 2003.

She also particularly enjoys the preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and ultrasound aspects of her companion animal work here at Eureka Vet Group.

Since November 2004, Kate has worked part-time (currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays) as she and her husband now have two young children to keep them busy at home.

Kate has resisted the urge to accumulate a menagerie – having grown up on an Arab horse stud with beef cattle, chooks, ducks, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, a rat, and the odd lamb, she now has time and space for just her Brittany Spaniel “Ellie” and her tabby moggy “Mowgli”, both “free to a good home” many years ago.
